Abstract:
Until the advent of the quartz-crystal pressure sensor any prediction of sustained reservoir capacity versus time was a time-consuming process. Recent reservior testing in the Momotombo geothermal field has allowed such a prediction and has provided an insight into the probability of well interference effects, possible reservoir boundary conditions, and certain calculations to obtain mass flow rates and enthalpy. These data in turn have provided the basic requirements for power plant and collection system design which is nearing completion. Reservoir and production testing results indicate a sustained capacity exceeding 100 MW.
