Abstract:

The prospects for significant additions to reserves in the Gulf Series are good in the unexplored southeastern part of the western Gulf basin. In southeastern Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida, lower Tuscaloosa rocks should be present in areas structurally favorable for hydrocarbon accumulation. The rest of the unexplored area has fair to poor potential.

In the explored part of the basin, minor additions to reserves can be expected from new-field discoveries, and larger additions from extensions and revisions of established production.
